Lonsdale Advisers join Alzheimer’s Trek26 Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge

Tuesday 1 May, 2018

Independent financial advisers Steve Cook and Simon Hawker members of our St Albans financial planning team are set to do the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26 Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 30th June.  They will be joined by Tracy Gannon and Deb Nolan from the Leeds financial planning team and Allan Ross independent financial adviser in Ware.

According to The Alzheimer’s Society the Yorkshire Three Peaks is ‘a classic UK trekking challenge.’  The Lonsdale team will start and finish the trek at Horton in Ribblesdale. The route will take them up and down the mountains of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglesborough. Highlights along the way include the Grade II listed Ribblehead Viaduct (built in the 1870s), the village of Chapel-le-Dale and views of Morecambe Bay.

Simon Hawker, independent financial adviser, IFA, St Albans, Hertfordshire said:

‘As a corporate partner of Alzheimer’s Society we are working hard to fundraise for the charity. Last December we were the headline sponsor at the successful Alzheimer’s Hertford carol concert, where Allan and Jo Ross and their family represented Lonsdale Wealth Management.  Steve Cook raised £2,630 in sponsorship when he took part in the Devizes to Westminster Canoe challenge this Easter, of which £1,350 was raised for The Alzheimer’s Society. We are hoping the Lonsdale team can raise a further £1,500 for The Alzheimer’s Society on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.  We are all training hard and hoping for good weather on the 30th June.’

Lonsdale Wealth Management became the first financial adviser in Hertfordshire to become a corporate partner of Alzheimer’s Society. Lonsdale nominated Alzheimer’s Society as our charity of choice and Allan Ross, member of the Ware financial planning team and Mandy Morgan, Bookkeeper and Administrator in St Albans have worked with Lonsdale colleagues to raise awareness of Dementia internally.  Some of our clients are affected by Dementia and some Lonsdale colleagues have experienced Dementia first-hand within their own family.
