Simon Hawker, Managing Director, Lonsdale Services, St Albans, Hertfordshire said: ‘I am really impressed that Lonsdale Services has raised over £6,400 for two charities during 2018. We are proud to be a corporate partner of the Alzheimer’s Society and colleagues raised over £5,000 for this charity in two organised fundraising activities last year.  Steve Cook also raised over £1,300 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust when he competed in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Challenge.  We will be looking to do more fundraising challenges in the future as it is important that we support causes that affect our families and clients.’

Steve Cook competes in Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Challenge

Over the Easter weekend in 2018, Steve Cook, independent financial adviser in our St Albans office took part in the 70th Anniversary race of the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Challenge. According to the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race website the race is ‘a severe test of skill, physical and mental stamina and planning.’ Unfortunately the race had to be cancelled part way through because of severe rainfall.  However, on the positive side Steve’s fitness improved and he exceeded his £2,000 fundraising target by raising £2,596 for the Alzheimer’s Society and The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
