Conor McClean IFA - Lonsdale Wealth sponsors Harpenden Rugby Football Club

Lonsdale Wealth Management is pleased to announce their sponsorship of Harpenden Rugby Football Club (HRFC) for the 2022/2023 season. 

HRFC is a CASC registered community amateur sports club.  As players aren’t paid, all the money required to keep the club going comes from sponsorship. This money is invested into the development of facilities, first class coaching and player development programmes.

HRFC is a truly inclusive rugby club.  The HRFC First XV currently play in the Regional 1 south-east (Level 5) division.  HRFC provides junior girls and boys rugby teams for all ages, and there is a successful senior ladies’ team, and a recent addition of a disability section.

HRFC has trained several players who have gone on to play for the British Lions and their country, notably Owen Farrell, George Ford, Max Eke, Maro Itoje, Jack Singleton and Ralph Adams-Hale

Conor McClean, financial adviser at Lonsdale Wealth Management, St Albans said: 

‘Lonsdale Wealth is delighted to sponsor HRFC this season, by providing a prominent sponsorship board at our grounds on Redbourn Lane, Harpenden.  I currently play in the First XV and like all the other players in our senior team I have a full day job and only train in the evenings and weekends. After getting promoted last season, the First XV is continuing to do well this season. “After a shaky start to the season we find ourselves 4^th in the league and unbeaten in 2023, 8 wins in a row with 1 left to play to end the season. We had a notable win against Westcombe Park in January, ending their 14-game winning streak in the process, we have beaten local rivals Tring and Hertford for the first time in modern HRFC history and preparing for the highest ever finish the club has ever achieved.'

Having been involved with the club since I was a junior, I know how community driven HRFC is, and we want to support rugby at all levels for all abilities.  HRFC has already shown how we foster the next generation of rugby talent given the number of successful young rugby players to have trained here.  Lonsdale Wealth Management currently sponsor the St Albans City Youth team and recently sponsored Triforce, the St Albans junior triathlon team.  We are committed to supporting local sport to encourage young people to join teams and play sport socially and competitively.’
